Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away, and if you are anything like me, this is your all-time favourite holiday. We all know that thanksgiving requires hours of cooking, cleaning and a whole lot of eating! If you are lucky enough to host family and friends at your house, you’ll be busy cleaning every corner, closet, and room in the house.
Be stress-free and plan ahead; focus on cleaning the rooms that your guests are going to see and spend time in.
Start small: Start with the smaller items to help get the ball rolling!
→ Wash all serving dishes or utensils and that fancy china or glassware that only ever gets used on special occasions (we all have them).
→ Clean and organize the dining and living rooms, and clean and organize your front foyer for your guest’s coats & shoes.
→ Clean the out the refrigerator to make room for all your Thanksgiving food (YUM).
Deep Clean: Once you deep clean the house, you will just need to do a quick touch up the day before your guests arrive.
→ Dust all the ceiling corners, baseboards, ceiling fans in each room, including the bathroom
→ Clean bathrooms guests will be using- sink, toilet, shower, tub, mirrors, and floors.
→ Vacuum and mop the rooms which your guests will be in.
Touch Up: On the day that your guests arrive, a simple touch up will do!
→ Touch up the bathrooms- wipe mirrors, toilet, sink.
→ Dry dusting, vacuuming, and spot mop
→ Wipe down the stove
Thanksgiving can be a lot of work, but it is also very rewarding. Spending time with friends and family is always a gift in itself. Taking the time to clean ahead of time will help you enjoy the cooking and socializing without being stressed and overwhelmed.
